Individual standings versus Elo rating
Why win percentage and official Elo rating answer different questions and should not be used interchangeably.
The individual pool table
Individual standings summarise one selected pool: played, won, percentage and sometimes a rating field from that competition source. Win percentage is wins divided by matches played. It does not account for opponents outside that pool and can move sharply when only a few matches have been recorded.
The official Elo rating
NTTB Elo changes for registered results according to rating difference and event weighting. An unexpected win can add more points than an expected one. New players can initially hold a temporary rating, and a competition result visible today may not yet be reflected in a published rating view.
Use both in context
Use pool standings to understand performance in that particular competition half. Use official history to follow development across published seasons and results. Compare values only alongside their source, season and retrieval time; do not manufacture a “live Elo” by adding isolated result deltas yourself.
